They are quick to spot their mistakes and correct. Good entrepreneurs can admit when their course of action was wrong and learn from it. Good entrepreneurs are wrong often. If you’re not then you’re not trying hard enough. Good entrepreneurs have a penchant for doing vs. over-analyzing.”

- I made the jump from 20+ years of employment to being an entrepreneur 5 months ago. This is the thing that has struck me the most: making decisions. There’s nobody else, so you have to make them. In larger organizations decisions go unmade. People are always waiting on something else: a meeting, input from another department.

A lot of the things that the kid [in the book] says are things that John said. John said, “Papa, what would you do if I died?” I said, “I’d want to die, too,” and he said, “So you could be with me?” I said, “Yes, so I could be with you.” Just a conversation that two guys would have.”

- I read Cormac McCarthy’s The Road, a year or two ago and the book still haunts me. The relationship between the father and his son and what they mean to each other in a frightening, post-apocalyptic world hits pretty close to the bone. The quote pretty much sums it up.
