Hertz Fee Bullsh*t
I’m trying to book a car for Spring Break. Here’s what I see after choosing the car. Almost all of these fees are bullshit, but the “Rental Surcharge” really pisses me off. This is Hertz, a car rental company. How can a company whose sole business is renting, have a surcharge for “rental”? The explanation isn’t helpful either: “Rental surcharges vary by location. Depending on applicable law, they may be either mandatory or permitted fees. More details can be provided at the rental counter at time of rent.”
In total, $90 of “fees” on a $360 rental. An extra 25%. And these are all costs/pricing that should be in the rental rate.
Almost as bad as the airlines.
